What a dream

I had the most amazing nightmare of my life last night. I mean it. It was so good. The whole thing was absolutely terrifying, and the end? It was such a twist that I think my brain kicked me out of sleep for it. My brain literally could not handle the twist. I wrote out the entire thing the moment I woke up, pseudo-story style, for my friend. It ended up being 3000 words, and I wrote it in an hour and a half. I didn’t brush my teeth, I didn’t get out of bed, I didn’t do anything but write. When I looked at the number, I was shocked, but I’m definitely glad. I’ve been lacking on writing lately since I’ve been letting Death Defiant stew, and it was quite the exercise.

I think I might actually adapt it. I love the twist at the end, and it’s left me in such a good mood all day. I had to copy and paste it from Facebook, and every time I saw a part of it, I ended up grinning.

Other than that, the only thing I’ve really been doing is working and sleeping. I was working 11pm-7am most of last week, so I’ve been trying to get back to a normal sleep schedule. Almost there, thankfully.

I’ll be starting the editing process for Death Defiant on Wednesday, so that’s really exciting. I’ve got a list of notes for stuff that I need to keep in mind while reading through. I expect it will take awhile, but once I’m done, it’ll finally be ready to go out to beta readers.

How’s your writing week been?

Give me your thoughts.
